Einstein for Service: Every AI Feature in Service Cloud

Hey friends,

Einstein for Service is Salesforce's set of AI features for Service Cloud, and it's now part of Agentforce Service: case classification and routing at intake, article and reply recommendations while reps work, generative replies and summaries at wrap-up, and autonomous Agentforce Service agents for routine questions.

Trailhead describes Agentforce Service as the next generation of what was previously called Einstein for Service, combining predictive, generative and agentic AI grounded in your Salesforce data (Trailhead). Service Cloud itself is now called Agentforce Service (Salesforce Help). The Agentforce Service Consultant exam guide lists AI and generative AI under industry trends and asks you to differentiate Agentforce Service automation under Case Management.

What AI features are in Service Cloud?

The easiest way to remember them is by when they help during a case. Here's every feature Trailhead lists, grouped that way:

Table of Agentforce Service AI features grouped by case stage: intake, working the case, wrap-up and analysis, with what each feature does.

Learn them by stage and the exam scenarios get much easier.

Trailhead also lists two supporting pieces: Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud), which unifies customer data to ground AI responses, and service metrics for contact center insights. Incident management can be paired with Agentforce to notify customers at scale during outages.

Which features are predictive and which are generative?

Predictive features suggest a value or item that already exists; generative features write new text. That one sentence answers a lot of exam questions.

TypeFeaturesWhat the rep does
Predicts or recommendsCase Classification, Case Routing, Case Wrap-Up, Article Recommendations, Reply Recommendations, Next Best ActionAccepts or ignores a suggestion
GenerativeService Replies, Work Summaries, Knowledge CreationReviews and edits AI-written drafts
AgenticAgentforce Service agentTakes over when the agent escalates

Next Best Action is rules plus data, not a language model: you build recommendation strategies in Flow Builder (Next Best Action in Help).

A bit about how I study. Focus on Force was my favorite resource on the way to 17 Salesforce certs. I started the traditional way, reading the study guide first and testing second, but rapid-fire practice tests are what actually made things stick. That's the loop Cert Lab is built on: quick questions, then explanations with current links and screenshots, then go again.

Which feature solves which problem?

Trailhead pairs each feature with a business problem. Here's my condensed version:

If the requirement saysReach for
Reps waste time filling in case fieldsCase Classification (intake) or Case Wrap-Up (end of chat)
Cases land with the wrong teamCase Routing with Case Classification
Reps can't find the right articleArticle Recommendations
Reps type the same chat answers all dayReply Recommendations or Service Replies
Writing case notes after chats takes too longWork Summaries
Good answers never make it into KnowledgeKnowledge Creation
Reps miss upsell or retention momentsNext Best Action
Too many routine contacts for the team sizeAgentforce Service agent
Leaders don't know why customers contact usConversation Mining (Service Intelligence)

How does Service AI stay accurate?

Through grounding. Your admin picks which case and Knowledge fields are used, Agentforce indexes them, and generated replies use that content for context. Trailhead notes everything used by Service grounding is protected by the trust layer. My Einstein Trust Layer post explains what that layer does.

Reps also get Write with AI in Enhanced Chat and Enhanced Messaging, which can refine, expand or summarize a reply before they send it (Enhanced Chat in Help).

What happened to Einstein Bots?

Plenty of teams still run Einstein Bots. Starting August 17, 2026, Einstein Bots is in maintenance mode: existing bots keep working, but there are no new features, and Salesforce recommends Agentforce for new AI agent implementations (Set Up Enhanced Bots).

What mistakes should you avoid?

  • Confusing Reply Recommendations with Service Replies. One suggests approved replies; the other drafts new text with generative AI.
  • Assuming Conversation Mining is included. Trailhead says it's in the Service Intelligence SKU, not Einstein for Service.
  • Turning on generative features with messy Knowledge. Grounding can only be as good as your articles.
  • Calling Next Best Action generative AI. It's strategy logic you build, optionally fed by AI insights.
  • Building a new Einstein bot. In 2026, new builds should be Agentforce agents.

FAQ

Is Einstein for Service the same as Agentforce Service?

Agentforce Service is the next generation of Einstein for Service. The AI features carried over, plus autonomous agents.

What's the difference between Case Classification and Case Wrap-Up?

Case Classification predicts fields when a case comes in. Case Wrap-Up suggests field values at the end of a chat.

What do Work Summaries produce?

A draft summary, issue and resolution based on the conversation between the rep and the customer, so the rep doesn't start case notes from a blank page.

Which feature recommends Knowledge articles to reps?

Article Recommendations, on open cases.
