Hey friends,
The official Trailhead path for the Salesforce Business Analyst exam is the Prepare for Your Salesforce Business Analyst Credential trailmix plus the Salesforce Business Analyst Certification Prep module. Those are the two items the exam guide recommends. Below I map the best individual modules to each of the six exam sections, so you know what each one is for.
Weights come from the official Business Analyst exam guide: 60 scored questions, 105 minutes, 72% to pass.
Trailhead modules mapped to each exam section

Spend your time in proportion to the weights.
The order I'd do them in
- Salesforce Business Analyst: Quick Look. Short. Sets up what the role is, the skills, and the common myths.
- Business Analyst Skills and Strategies. Information discovery, elicitation techniques, documentation types and communication. This feeds the two biggest sections.
- Customer-Centric Discovery Strategies and Journey Mapping. Current state, customer goals, and running a workshop.
- Business Process Mapping and Process Mapping for Business Analysts. Universal Process Notation (UPN), scope by input and outcome, and drill-down levels.
- User Story Creation. Story components and acceptance criteria.
- User Acceptance Testing, Salesforce Agile Basics and Scrum and Kanban at Salesforce. Delivery support and how BAs fit in sprints.
- Business Analyst Best Practices. Advocating for the customer, learning their customs, building improvement habits.
- Salesforce Business Analyst Certification Prep. Last. One unit per section, which makes it a great review.
Are there superbadges for the BA exam?
The exam guide doesn't recommend any, and I haven't found a superbadge built for the BA craft. That makes sense: superbadges test hands-on building, and the BA exam is about discovery, stakeholders and requirements, not configuration. Skip the superbadge hunt and spend that time on scenario practice.
I'll be honest about how I learned this stuff. I loved Focus on Force and used it through 17 Salesforce certifications. Rereading was slow for me; taking practice tests rapid-fire and studying every wrong answer was fast. So I built Cert Lab around that: test yourself quickly, see why each option is right or wrong, with up-to-date links and screenshots.

Trailhead teaches the concepts. Cert Lab drills them: rapid scenario quizzes for all six sections, with every option explained.

Trailhead is free and accurate, and I'd use it. But it's mostly reading plus short quizzes with easy answers. The real exam is scenario based: "Given a scenario, choose the most effective technique for eliciting business needs." That's straight from the guide.
- Badges aren't readiness. You can earn every badge and still freeze on a two-correct-answers-look-right question.
- Practice the judgment calls. Which technique, which stakeholder first, which story is ready for development.
- Know the boundaries. The guide says you're not expected to know change management, project management, ROI, custom code or technical design. Trailhead modules sometimes wander into those.
After you pass
The Business Analyst credential needs an annual maintenance module on Trailhead, per the exam guide. It's free, so put a yearly reminder on your calendar.
FAQ
How long does the BA trailmix take?
It depends on your background. Trailhead shows an estimated time on the trailmix page; budget extra for note taking and practice questions.
Is Trailhead enough to pass?
For some people with real BA experience, yes. Most people do better adding scenario practice tests, since that's how the exam asks questions.
