Hey Everyone,
Happy Saturday! Super short tip for you this week.
From any page inside Salesforce, you can append the following to the page URL and press enter:
?eptVisible=1

EPT stands for Experienced Page Time, and by adding this to a URL once and then pressing enter, Salesforce will begin to show the number of seconds it takes for any page you’re on to load!

It can be turned off again by repeating the process but using this string instead:
?eptVisible=0
I only learned about this functionality this week, and so have yet to use it to solve a problem for someone.
A few potential ways it might be valuable:
- Have an end user take these steps to see how fast or slow their page is loading
- Have two users take these steps and compare one users results to another users results to determine if “Salesforce being slow” is local to the user or global to all users
- Enable it yourself when building different LEX layouts to see which one performs best
- Turn it on and open commonly used reports and dashboards. If they load slowly consider adding filters or removing fields from those views
- If you find any of your commonly used Salesforce record pages take 8 seconds or longer, run a debug log while updating one of those records (Accounts for example) to see if any automations are causing slow load times
I’m sure there are more. How might you use it to help someone?
Let me know!
And have a great weekend 🙂
Best,
Nick
