Using a Data Table in Salesforce Flow

Hey Everyone!

This weeks tip is about using a data table in Salesforce flow.

Sometimes the Salesforce UI doesn’t let us give users the experience they want and we have to get creative to provide a workaround .

One example is a request to allow users to complete several tasks from inside a case record, the same way they could mass edit tasks using a list view.

We can solve this requirement with a screen flow using the data table component:

By configuring the flow to look up all the activities on a case, we can then display them in a list directly on the case page (using the Lightning Page Flow component).

This data table allows users to select tasks from the open activity list and click the “Finish” button which has been renamed “Complete Selected Tasks” inside the Flow builder.

Our screen flow then uses an update records element to set the status for each task selected by the user to Completed.

And boom! Users can now quickly complete all their tasks right from the case page.

I actually built this for a client at my day job this week and they loved it! Hope you find it helpful.

Have a great week,

Nick
