Hey friends,
Agentforce is priced three main ways: Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000 credits, where each standard agent action uses 20 credits (about $0.10); Conversations at $2 each for customer-facing agents; or per-user licensing, from the $5 Agentforce User License up to $125 per user per month for the Sales, Service and Field Service add-ons. There's also a $0 starting point through Salesforce Foundations.
Everything here comes from Salesforce's Agentforce pricing page as it read on October 11, 2026. Prices are list prices in USD; your contract can differ, so treat this as a way to understand the model, not a quote.
The pricing options at a glance

Flex Credits are the most flexible; per-user add-ons are the most predictable.
How Flex Credits work
Flex Credits charge per action: one thing the agent does, like updating a record, summarizing a case, answering from knowledge, or running a prompt or flow. The page gives the rates:
- Agentforce action: 20 Flex Credits. At $500 per 100,000 credits, that's $0.10.
- Agentforce Voice action: 30 Flex Credits, or $0.15.
- Credits are shared across actions, prompts, translations and voice actions, and across teams and channels.
So the cost of a use case is simply actions per request × credits per action × requests. That's why agent design and cost are linked: an agent that calls three actions where one would do costs three times as much.
Salesforce's worked examples
The pricing page walks through five examples. I've charted the monthly totals:

Volume drives cost far more than the per-action price.
- Where is my order: 2 actions (authenticate, get order) = 40 credits. At 20 requests a day for 30 days: 24,000 credits, $120 a month.
- Case management: 3 actions = 60 credits. 100 users × 3 cases a day × 20 days: 360,000 credits, $1,800 a month.
- Field service scheduling: 5 actions = 100 credits. 10 reps × 3 appointments × 20 days: 60,000 credits, $300 a month.
- IT onboarding: 1 action = 20 credits. 20 new hires × 5 questions: 2,000 credits, $10 a month.
- Voice reservations: 4 voice actions = 120 credits. 300 calls a month: 36,000 credits, $180.
Salesforce notes these are illustrations only and don't include other costs like Data 360 credits. If your agent grounds answers in Data 360, budget for that separately.
Conversations vs Flex Credits
Conversations are a flat $2 per conversation, aimed at external, customer-facing agents. Salesforce's FAQ frames the trade-off: Conversations give flat pricing, while Flex Credits align cost to value and work across every Agentforce use case, with more detailed usage data.
Rules from the FAQ worth knowing before you choose:
- You can't mix them. Flex Credits and Conversations aren't supported in the same org.
- You can switch from Conversations to Flex Credits, but you swap all of your Conversation SKUs.
- Unused Flex Credits don't roll over into the next subscription term.
- No overage penalty. Go over and you pay your contracted rate, billed monthly in arrears.
My rough rule: if your customer conversations are long and use several actions each, a flat per-conversation price can be easier to budget. If most requests are one or two actions, or you also want employee agents, Flex Credits usually fit better. Run your own numbers with the formula above.

Pricing shows up in AI-201 scenarios
The Agentforce Specialist Cert Lab covers agent design, actions and deployment choices, with practice questions that explain every option.
Start the AI-201 Cert Lab, $9.99 →Buying models: Pre-Purchase, Pre-Commit, PayGo
- Pre-Purchase: buy a set amount upfront for the term and draw it down. Salesforce says this saves the most.
- Pre-Commit: commit to a baseline with no upfront payment, billed monthly in arrears, with a true-up at term end if you use less. The page says it's widely available later this year.
- PayGo: no commitment, pay for what you use, billed monthly in arrears.
PayGo and Pre-Commit are only for Flex Credits. Conversations, the add-ons and Agentforce 1 Editions aren't available on those models.
Per-user options for employee agents
- Agentforce add-ons for Sales, Service, and Field Service and Operations: $125 per user per month, with unmetered Agentforce use for those employees, plus Prompt Builder and AI analytics.
- Agentforce Industries add-ons for Industries clouds, including everything in the Sales and Service add-ons.
- Agentforce Max Editions include the add-on plus 2.75 million Flex Credits per org per year.
- Agentforce User License: $5 per user per month to give every employee Agentforce access, with limited CRM objects and metered usage.
Tracking spend: Digital Wallet
Digital Wallet shows consumption in near real time, with threshold alerts and usage trends. The FAQ says it's provided free for customers with Digital Wallet-enabled products. Set alerts on day one; it's the simplest way to avoid a surprise bill.
Can you try Agentforce for free?
Yes, to learn it. Salesforce Foundations lists $0 access to Agentforce Builder, Prompt Builder and Agent Script. For hands-on practice, the Trailhead projects in my Agentforce tutorial use free, time-limited playgrounds.

- Agentforce topics and actions: fewer, better actions also means lower Flex Credit use.
